How it works

PullBox is a mystery-box site for trading card games, best known among Magic: The Gathering players. You buy an in-house currency called coins, spend them on boxes of cards, and then either sell what you pull back for coins or have the cards shipped to you. Before anything else, know that PullBox has no cash or crypto withdrawal: the only way to take value off the site is as physical cards. Here is how it works and what to check first.

How does PullBox work?

  1. Sign up. You create an account with an email and password, and must be 18+. Linking Discord unlocks a daily free box, and verifying a phone number unlocks coin drops in the site chat.
  2. Buy coins. Its FAQ lists credit and debit cards, cryptocurrency, Cash App Pay, Amazon Pay, Klarna, and Apple Pay or Google Pay depending on your location. Its privacy policy names the payment companies Coinflow and Cryptochill. The minimum purchase is reported at $10. All sales are final.
  3. Pick a box. Each box lists every possible prize with its odds, condition, set and foil status, plus a volatility meter. Box prices move with the market value of what’s inside.
  4. Open it. The result comes from a provably fair roll you can verify. You can also open boxes against other players in Battles, or enter tournaments called Brawls.
  5. Sell back or ship. Sell the card back instantly for its value in coins, or ship up to 20 items at a time. Cards you leave in your inventory are converted into coin vouchers after 30 to 60 days.

What can you open on PullBox?

PullBox lists hundreds of themed boxes for Magic: The Gathering, Pokémon, One Piece and Lorcana, and has pages for Riftbound and Flesh and Blood. Some boxes hold sealed product, such as booster displays and Elite Trainer Boxes. It has no sports cards. Boxes are priced in coins, starting well under one coin, and the biggest prizes run to thousands of coins, such as a Mox Diamond at about 3,000 coins.

Sources disagree on what a coin is worth. Some reviewers say one coin is worth about one dollar, while a bundle table reported by Deadspin works out to about 1.5 coins per dollar. Check the bundle prices at checkout, because every dollar figure depends on it.

What are the odds on PullBox?

Every box shows the chance of each prize, adding up to 100%, so you can work out a box’s expected value before you open it. PullBox does not publish a site-wide return figure. Affiliate testers who did the math found returns of about 80% to 88% on most boxes they checked, and about 73% on one, so most opens are worth less than the box price. Our guide to expected value in online pack openings explains how to run the numbers.

Is PullBox provably fair?

Yes. Each roll combines a server seed, which stays hidden until after the roll, with your own client seed, a salt and a counter, using the HMAC-SHA512 hash function. A verify button opens the code so you can check the result yourself. No third-party audit has been published, and the check proves the roll was not changed, not how the box was priced. Our guide on how provably fair rips work explains the difference.

How does PullBox buyback work?

  • Sell-back: Instant, in site coins only
  • Value: the card’s market value in coins, according to its FAQ
  • Cash-out: none

PullBox’s FAQ says you can sell a card back “for their market value in coins,” but it doesn’t say which price source sets that value. One affiliate site reports trade-in values 15% to 25% below market on popular cards, which we could not confirm. Because coins can’t be withdrawn, selling back only lets you keep playing or buy specific cards from its exchange. See how other sites handle buyback in our buyback rates comparison.

What happens to cards you don’t ship?

Since March 27, 2026, PullBox limits how long cards can sit in your inventory. Items worth under 500 coins convert into a coin voucher after 60 days, and items worth more convert after 30 days. The vouchers don’t expire, but its FAQ doesn’t say what value they carry. If you want a card, ship it before the timer runs out.

How does PullBox shipping work?

Shipping detail What PullBox says
Cost Priced in coins by weight; US and Canada only, 30-day target
Where it ships US and Canada only, from Syracuse, NY
Speed Aims to ship within 30 days, plus 15 days for rare cards it has to source
Extras Signature confirmation or insurance for a few more coins
Packing Double-sleeved, in a top loader and a bubble mailer

PullBox does not hold every card listed in its boxes, and sources some after you win them, which is why shipping takes weeks. Reviewers report waits from about two weeks to two months, and one Reddit user reported two to four months. Its FAQ says the shipping fee is shown before you confirm, while a sponsored review said it appeared after checkout. Cards are graded to TCGplayer’s condition standards, and condition disputes appear in its reviews.

Is PullBox legit?

  • Company: CCG Labs, LLC, doing business as Pullbox, registered in Delaware and operating from Syracuse, New York. Its founder, Mark Mehochko, announced it in January 2024.
  • Reviews: mixed. Trustpilot is shown in the trust signals section below, and the company doesn’t reply to negative reviews there. Reddit users praise its Magic catalog and free rewards and complain about shipping times and a change to reward boxes.
  • Complaints and legal: we found no lawsuits or regulatory actions. It holds no license, and some users call it unlicensed gambling.
  • Terms: Delaware law, and binding individual arbitration through AAA with a class-action waiver. All sales are final. The terms are dated December 1, 2023, and still name PayPal as the only payment method, which no longer matches its FAQ.

Is PullBox available in your state?

PullBox’s terms list no restricted US states or countries. They say only that the site is not meant for anyone where using it would break local law. It ships only to the US and Canada. Rules on paid mystery boxes differ by state, so check the rules where you live before you buy coins.

What should you check before you buy coins?

  • Treat coins as money spent: there is no way to withdraw them as cash.
  • Check the coin bundle prices, so you know what a coin costs you in dollars.
  • Ship the cards you want before the 30 or 60 day timer converts them into vouchers.
  • Expect to wait weeks for cards to arrive.
  • Set a budget you can afford to lose. Most opens are worth less than the box price.

Is PullBox legit?

PullBox is run by CCG Labs, LLC, a Delaware company, ships physical cards from Syracuse, New York, and has operated since early 2024. PullBox aims to ship orders within 30 days, plus 15 more days for rare cards it has to source. Reviewers report waits from about two weeks to two months, and one Reddit user reported two to four months. It ships only to the US and Canada.

How much is a PullBox coin worth?

PullBox prices boxes and prizes in coins, not dollars, and sources disagree on the rate. Some reviewers say one coin is worth about one dollar, while a bundle table reported by Deadspin works out to about 1.5 coins per dollar. Check the bundle prices at checkout before you buy.
