Affiliate disclosure
RipsWorld is free to use. To keep it that way, we may earn a commission when you sign up with, or buy from, a pack-opening site after clicking a link on our pages. You don’t pay anything extra, and commissions never change a score or a ranking. This page explains how that works, in line with the US Federal Trade Commission’s guidance on endorsements and affiliate links.
Do we earn money from the sites we list?
Sometimes. When you click one of our affiliate links and then sign up, make a first purchase or make a deposit, the site or its affiliate network may pay us a commission. You don’t pay anything extra for using our links, and the price of a pack is the same either way.
Some sites we rank have no affiliate relationship with us at all. We rank and review them anyway, using the same method as every other site.
Does a commission change a ranking?
No. Commissions never change a score or a ranking position, and a site cannot pay for a higher rank or a better review. Rankings follow five weighted ratings, each ranking position has a fixed score, and the method is published on our how we rank page. The ranking is the same for every visitor, and risks such as restricted locations, missing licenses or pending lawsuits are shown whether or not we earn from the site.
How can you spot an affiliate link?
Every link that sends you to a pack-opening site, such as the buttons to visit a site or claim an offer, goes through an address on our site that contains /go/ before forwarding you to the site. We use the same route whether or not we have an affiliate deal with that site, so treat any /go/ link as one that may earn us a commission. These links are marked as sponsored in the page code and open in a new tab. Links to other RipsWorld pages, and to sources we cite, are ordinary links.
When you click a /go/ link, we record the click so we can see which pages are useful and so the site can report sign-ups back to us. Our privacy policy explains what that record contains and how long we keep it.
What about promo codes and welcome offers?
The offers and codes on our promo codes page and in our reviews are set by the sites themselves. Using them may earn us a commission. A site’s offer counts for only a small part of its score, so a generous offer cannot lift a site with weak buyback terms or high fees to the top of our list.
Where do we show this disclosure?
A short disclosure appears at the top of every page, and a link to this page sits next to every ranking list.
