About RipsWorld

RipsWorld is an independent comparison site for online card pack-opening sites, often called rip sites, that serve US collectors. We rank and review these sites with one published method, keep their key facts in one place with a source and a checked date, and explain the risks as plainly as the rewards.

What is RipsWorld?

RipsWorld is an information site. We don’t sell packs, hold balances or run any of the sites we list. For each site we track the facts that decide what you get for your money:

  • buyback rate, whose valuation it is based on, and how long the offer lasts
  • pack prices and what a pack actually contains
  • shipping, vaulting, withdrawal and marketplace fees
  • whether odds or checklists are published, and whether draws are provably fair
  • minimum age, restricted locations and anything notable in the site’s terms

You can see the current ranking on our best rip sites list, read a full review of each site, or start with our guides if you are new to pack opening.

Why does RipsWorld exist?

Rip sites work in very different ways. Some sell graded cards from an insured vault, some tokenize cards on a blockchain, and some run crypto mystery boxes. Their buyback terms, fees and rules differ, and the details are spread across terms pages, help centers and third-party reviews that don’t always agree. Many of those reviews come from affiliate publishers, as ours do. We built RipsWorld to put the facts side by side, show where each one comes from, and flag where sources conflict, so you can compare sites before you spend anything.

How do we rank sites?

Every site is scored on the same five parts: pull value, buyback and fees, transparency, shipping and support, and promos. Our system combines the ratings with fixed weights into one total, the totals set the ranking order, and each ranking position has a fixed score out of 10. We check facts against each site’s own terms first, date every fact, and re-check anything older than 30 days. The full method is on our how we rank page.

Who writes RipsWorld?

RipsWorld content is written and checked by two named team members:

  • Dana Ortiz, card market analyst, who covers buyback terms, pack prices, fees and card values across the sites we rank.
  • Sam Lee, reviewer, who checks our pages against each site’s terms and our sources before they are published.

Each review and guide shows who wrote it, who reviewed it and when it was last updated.

How do we stay independent?

Our rankings follow the published method, not our commercial relationships. A site cannot pay for a higher rank, a better score or a kinder review. Some sites we rank pay us nothing, and they are scored exactly the same way. The ranking is also the same for every visitor: if a site is not available in your state, we add a note to its row rather than reorder the list.

When a site carries a serious risk, such as terms that reportedly restrict US users, no license or pending lawsuits, we say so on its review and in its row, whether or not we earn from it.

How does RipsWorld make money?

RipsWorld is free to use. We may earn a commission when you sign up with, or buy from, a site after clicking one of our links. You don’t pay more for using our links. Commissions never change a score or a ranking position. Our affiliate disclosure explains how the links work and how to spot them.

Pack opening involves chance, and what you pull can be worth less than you paid. Our responsible play page covers setting a budget and where to get free, confidential help.

How can you contact us?
