Verdict
Arena Club suits sports and TCG collectors who want to see a pack's checklist and hit rates before they buy, and who prefer paying by card or bank transfer rather than crypto. The main trade-off is on resale: buyback opens only after a waiting period, it is based on Arena Club's own valuations, and its in-house AC slabs may not carry PSA-level premiums outside its marketplace. Before you buy, read the pack checklist and decide whether the optional Slab Safe buyback floor is worth its extra cost.
Pros
- Published checklists with hit rates
- Optional Slab Safe buyback floor
- Card and bank payments, no crypto needed
- Sports, Pokémon and One Piece packs
Cons
- Buyback opens after a waiting period
- Buyback based on its own valuations
- In-house AC slabs may carry less resale premium
- Low Trustpilot score, mostly shipping complaints
How it works
Arena Club sells digital Slab Packs that each reveal one graded card from a published checklist. It is the most open site we cover about pack contents, it pays out to your bank rather than in crypto, and it grades cards in house. Here is how it works, what it costs and what to check before you buy.
How does Arena Club work?
- Open an account. You must be 18+ or the age of majority in your state, and reveals of alcohol products require 21+. Arena Club may ask for ID and proof of address.
- Pay. Credit card, debit card or ACH bank transfer, processed by Stripe. PayPal, Apple Pay and crypto are not listed in its terms.
- Pick a Slab Pack. Packs run from $25 to a reported top price of about $2,500. Each reveals one graded card.
- Decide what to do with the card. Sell it back, list it on the marketplace, keep it in the vault or have it shipped.
What can you open on Arena Club?
Slab Packs cover baseball, basketball, football, soccer, Pokémon and One Piece. The marketplace also lists Disney Lorcana and Star Wars, and luxury watches are sold as Time Boxes. Arena Club also sells physical Slab Packs on eBay.
Does Arena Club publish its odds?
Yes, more openly than most. Each pack’s checklist shows the hit rate for each card, and a live Hit Feed shows which top cards are still in the pool. Use both before you buy: if the best cards are already gone, the pack is worth less to you. There is no cryptographic provably fair scheme. Our guide to provably fair rips explains how a published checklist differs from a draw you can verify.
How are Arena Club cards graded?
Arena Club grades cards in house with AI-assisted and human grading, producing “AC slabs”. Its vault also accepts PSA, BGS, SGC and CGC slabs. AC slabs may not command PSA-level premiums outside Arena Club’s own marketplace, which matters if you plan to sell elsewhere.
How does Arena Club buyback work?
Buyback is Arena Club’s offer to buy your card for its estimated value minus a 10% fee:
- Rate: 90% of estimated value
- Timing: After 24 hours, counted from the reveal
- Slab Safe: an optional add-on at a 10% premium on the pack that guarantees a buyback of at least 80% of your purchase price
RipRanks warns that Arena Club’s estimates can run above eBay comps, so check recent sales before you rely on one. Our buyback rates comparison puts the rate next to the other sites.
Money from buybacks and sales lands in your Digital Wallet, which pays out to a linked bank account through Stripe Connect.
What does shipping cost?
Vault storage in Arena Club’s insured, climate-controlled vault is free. Getting a slab in hand costs a per-card retrieval fee plus shipping (the key facts table has the current amount), and processing can take up to a week. Most of Arena Club’s Trustpilot reviews are complaints about shipping, customs and lost items, several of them from international buyers.
Is Arena Club legit?
- Company: Arenaclub.com, Inc., based in Los Angeles, co-founded in 2022 by Derek Jeter, Brian Lee and Jesse Glass.
- Backing: a $10M Series A in 2022, with investors including M13 and Lightspeed (Sportico).
- Partners and press: an eBay partnership for physical Slab Packs (Fox Business) and Sports Illustrated coverage.
- Complaints and legal: no lawsuits or regulatory actions found. Trustpilot reviews are few and mostly about shipping.
Is Arena Club available in your state?
Arena Club’s terms do not name any restricted US states for Slab Packs. They exclude only sanctioned or embargoed areas, and they are governed by California law. Promotions can have their own limits: a 2026 sweepstakes giveaway was void in New York, Florida and Rhode Island. Check the terms and your local rules before you buy.
What should you check before you buy?
- Read the checklist and Hit Feed for the pack you want.
- Decide whether Slab Safe is worth the premium for your budget.
- If you plan to resell outside Arena Club, favor PSA, BGS, SGC or CGC slabs over AC slabs.
- Allow up to a week for shipping and budget for the retrieval fee.
