Verdict
MNSTR, run by Monster Strategy, suits Pokémon and One Piece collectors who want graded slabs, published odds for every pack and a sell-back offer with no time limit, paying by card or crypto. The trade-offs are that cash-outs are crypto only, its buyback and expected-value figures use its own card values, it offers no provably fair check, and we could not confirm its company in New York's records. Before you buy, look at the buyback rate for the pack you want, since it ranges from 86% on the cheapest pack to 94% on the most expensive playable one, and set up a crypto wallet if you plan to cash out.
Pros
- Odds and value bands published for every pack

- Flat US shipping shown before you pay
- Card, Apple Pay and Google Pay accepted
Cons
- Cash-out is crypto only
- Buyback and odds use its own card values
- No provably fair check or audit
- Operator not found in NY public records
- No welcome offer
How it works
MNSTR, also called Monster, is the pack-opening site at mnstr.xyz run by Monster Strategy. It sells Pokémon and One Piece packs that each reveal one real graded slab from PSA, CGC or BGS, held in an insured third-party vault. You can sell the card back at any time, list it on its marketplace, or have it shipped. The site runs on the MegaETH blockchain and keeps balances in a dollar stablecoin, but you can also pay by card. Here is how it works and what to check before you buy.
How does MNSTR work?
- Sign up. You log in with email, X or a crypto wallet, and a wallet is created for you. You must be 18+, and MNSTR can ask for ID at any time.
- Add funds. Pay by Visa, Mastercard, Apple Pay or Google Pay through the payment company Coinflow, or deposit crypto from one of a dozen blockchains. Funds are converted to USDm, a dollar stablecoin on MegaETH.
- Pick a pack. Each pack page shows the price, the buyback rate, the odds for each rarity with its value range, and the current average pull value. You can open up to five at once.
- Rip. You get one graded slab, revealed with a video.
- Choose what happens to the card. Sell it back at any time, keep it in the vault, list it on the marketplace, or ship it.
What packs does MNSTR sell?
Packs run from $50 to $1,250. The lineup on September 26, 2026:
| Pack | Game | Price | Buyback |
|---|---|---|---|
| Starter | Pokémon | $50 | 86% |
| Great | Pokémon | $100 | 89% |
| Adventure | One Piece | $150 | 93% |
| Monster | Pokémon | $250 | 92% |
| Outlaw | One Piece | $500 | 94% |
| Ultra | Pokémon | $1,250 | 95% (not playable when we checked) |
Sports packs are listed as coming soon. MNSTR also runs occasional sealed-pack auctions and blind drops, and none were live when we checked.
What are the odds on MNSTR?
Every pack page shows five rarity bands, each with its chance and value range. On the $50 Starter pack, for example, a common card worth $30 to $50 comes up 70.71% of the time, and a legendary card worth $500 or more comes up 0.14% of the time. MNSTR weights cards by value, so a $100 card is ten times more likely than a $1,000 card. The full card list is visible only after you sign in.
Each pack also shows an average pull value above its price, from about 2% above on the Outlaw pack to about 9% above on the Starter. Those figures use MNSTR’s own card values, and the data behind them is not disclosed. If you sell every pull straight back, the buyback rate brings the expected cash return to roughly 94% to 96% of the price, by our calculation, and the independent tracker mnstr.watch shows players losing about 1% to 5% per pack. Our guide to expected value in online pack openings explains how to read numbers like these.
Is MNSTR provably fair?
No provably fair system is published. MNSTR calls its draws fair and random within set odds, and purchases go through its pack contracts on MegaETH, but it offers no seeds, hashes or third-party audit that let you check a single pull. Our guide on how provably fair rips work explains what that kind of check adds.
How does MNSTR buyback work?
- Rate: 86% to 94% of MNSTR’s fair market value, depending on the pack
- Timing: Anytime; from 86% on the cheapest pack
- Paid in: the USDm stablecoin, to your balance
The “up to 95%” headline applies only to the $1,250 Ultra pack, which was not playable when we checked. The best playable rate was 94%, on the $500 Outlaw pack, and the cheapest pack pays 86%. In MNSTR’s own payout data, sell-backs paid exactly the pack’s rate. Its terms say buyback can be paused for maintenance or compliance reasons, and all pack purchases are final. See how the rates compare in our buyback rates comparison.
How do you cash out from MNSTR?
Cash-outs are crypto only. You withdraw your USDm balance to a crypto wallet, and there is no bank or PayPal payout. Reviewers report no platform withdrawal fee, but network fees can apply, and the minimum withdrawal is not published. If you don’t use crypto, plan how you will turn USDm into dollars before you rip.
What does MNSTR shipping cost?
| Cost | What MNSTR charges |
|---|---|
| US shipping | $20 flat plus $5 per card, shown before you pay |
| International shipping | $40 flat, plus $5 handling per card |
| Vault storage | Free, with no deadline to ship |
| Sales tax | Added where it applies |
You see the full breakdown before you pay, from your balance or by card, and shipments are insured and tracked. You may need to verify your ID first. The carrier and delivery times are not published, and MNSTR does not name its vault company or insurer.
Is MNSTR legit?
- Company: its terms name “Monster Strategy, inc, a New York limited liability company” at a private mailbox in Brooklyn. That wording mixes two company types, and we could not find the company in New York’s public corporation records. No founders are named on the site. It is publicly fronted on X by @andy8052, who discussed Monster Strategy on the Bankless podcast in June 2026.
- Track record: the site was live by November 2025 and moved to the MegaETH blockchain in April 2026. Its own stats showed about 280,000 pulls and about 2,000 players in September 2026.
- Reviews: we found no Trustpilot, BBB or app store profile. Its Discord had about 590 members when we checked.
- Complaints and legal: we found no lawsuits or regulatory actions.
- Terms: New York law, and binding individual arbitration through AAA with a class-action waiver. You can opt out by email within 30 days.
Support is by email and Discord, with no live chat. Beware a Solana token also called “Monster Strategy (MNSTR)”. It is not connected to the site, and a wallet provider flags it as risky.
Is MNSTR available in your state?
MNSTR’s terms list no restricted US states or countries. It holds no license and describes its cards as collectibles, not investments. Rules on paid random packs differ by state, so check the rules where you live before you buy.
What should you check before you buy?
- Look at the buyback rate for the pack you want, since it differs by pack.
- Set up a crypto wallet if you plan to cash out.
- Remember that the odds, the average value and the buyback all use MNSTR’s own card values.
- Set a budget you can afford to lose. Pack opening involves chance.
